Over the course of the past month or so I have thought about writing entries on the following topics:

1) Moving to Portland. Specifically, another rant about U-Haul and their nefarious ways.

I have finally come to the conclusion that all companies who rent vehicles are in the habit of starting you out with less gas than they claim you were given (except maybe for Hertz), but U-Haul goes above and beyond the call of duty by not even letting you know when you can pick up your truck until the day before you plan to move.

In the end I got my revenge by calling four different U-Haul drop off locations and telling them I was bringing back a 14 foot truck within the next hour. Then I returned my truck to a fifth location.

2) How badly I miss my cats.

Okay, so I really didn't think to write an entire entry about it, but of all the things about moving that have struck hard, having to leave Jalapeño and Habanero behind in Seattle has probably been the hardest.

I will be adopting some new matey friends when I get back from my current work-related jaunt to Tennessee though, so that should help cheer me up.

3) Recording The Minor Thirds.

Having barely been in Portland for a couple weeks, I took on the task of recording a Minor Thirds EP at my new apartment last Saturday.

The good news is that this means I've already started doing some of the things I wanted to start doing again. The baddish news is that it has revealed some of the deficiencies of my studio. Namely, that I have just enough equipment to record two vocalists and a ukulele without having to resort to supremely jury-rigging things. Of course, the primary reason for this is that for quite some time I've just been recording and overdubbing myself rather than recording other people who may have more than one band member.

I don't know if the band will in fact release the recording, though if they do I'm sure I'll let you know here if you don't find out from their website first.

4) Project Lockdown.

The reason I ended up not writing anything about Project Lockdown is because, well, we haven't started it yet. But Kiri and I have some plans...

5) There were a number of other ideas that crossed my mind, but all or most of them were blown off because I was busy or just lazy. Like I said, I'm in Tennessee again for work, but back at my new home in Portland, my stuff isn't even all unpacked yet.

I did get the mushrush.cam set up in the new studio though. And all my videogame consoles are connected to the TV already.
