Used to have a deck,
painted edges left on wood.
Primer and then gloss.
Twenty careful coats,
the table unassembled.
Polyurethane.
Aluminum in
a thrift store toaster oven.
Baking enamel.
Finger to finger,
bonds in seconds two fingers.
Superglue dribble.
Listening, smoking,
sat at summer's painted edges.
Nicotine and tar.
