5 haiku 80
As I jogged through Queens,
out of shape and out of breath,
I thought of nothing.
A New York Minute
of peace unpunctuated
save for soggy gasps.
Yo La Tengo smeared
as my Walkman bounced about
the record I taped.
I thought of something:
my first kid's record player
and how its speed flagged.
Had I taped records
back then, would the two warbles
cancel each other?
