well, I still like to take naps
So, it turns out I was very very wrong. I took the little test to determine what's goofy about my circadian rhythm again. According to the results, I have a mild case of Delayed Circadian Rhythm Disorder (DCR).
DCR causes you to have difficulty getting started in the morning, you may feel a bit groggy or down during part of the day, and you may experience a second wind later in the evening. Those with DCR are often referred to as night owls, and find it easier to stay up late at night. Although some DCR sufferers have little trouble falling asleep, almost all have difficulty getting up or getting started in the morning.
That does pretty much sum up my situation at the moment. I know the last time I took the test I did have an accelerated rhythm, but now I feel like I don't know from circadian rhythms at all.
Anyway, now that we're in Daylight Saving Time, I'm sure that will affect me as well. I guess I have a daily date with my little therapeutic light in my future. The test tells me I need to catch my special rays starting around 12:30 and then working forward a little bit until I'm doing it around 10:30 am each day for 15-30 minutes. So we'll see!
I have these awesome daydreams that I'll get my schedule in line and suddenly become the most productive person ever! I know that's bunk because I'm weirdly productive no matter what my schedule is like. My problem really is that the things I'm producing are often not the things I should be spending the most time on. Unfortunately, there is no light therapy that helps with prioritizing and being responsible.
