5 haiku 220
I built a treehouse
in our backyard the same year
our youngest left home.
The ceiling was high
enough that we didn't bonk
our heads too often.
You painted the door
so it said "NO KIDS ALLOWED,"
and that made us laugh.
We sat cross-legged
at an old cabinet door
on two cinderblocks.
You had fake candles
running on batteries, safe
to light in a tree.
