5 haiku 248
First time ever paid,
two broken strings and free beer.
Came home careening.
How proud we all were
and how beautifully naïve,
red-faced, loving life.
(I was the dumbest.
I was the most likely to
breathe into that scene.)
All toasting life and
the kid in the front row who
knows all the lyrics.
Jimmy would still quit.
Joey would surely marry,
and I'd take lessons.
