I left out yesterday's update because I didn't have time to work on anything. I didn't have a lot of time today either, but in the time I did have I wrote another song. I know I will likely change up a few of the lyrics, as I'm not exactly sure what it's about and I'm not perfectly happy with all of them, but it has a structure, and the parts of the structure (chorus, verse, bridge, turnarounds, etc.) are all built out with melodies and such. It doesn't have a title yet, but it's not uncommon for me to leave titles off until well after a song is finished.

So, I'll leave out my standard little blurb about the song until I have something more specific to say about it, but I have updated my little stats section to reflect a fourth song being written.

Given the average length of my songs, I am expecting to need eight to ten songs to hit the 29 minute mark that is the approximate requirement for the challenge. Having four songs written (lacking perhaps a few tweaks here and there) at the midpoint of the month seems okay on the writing end of things, but I really need to have some recordings soon, or I fear I won't be able to pull it off this year.

I'll be out of town for the holidays most of next week too, so there's no chance I'll be recording anything then. I don't have to pack a lot for the trip, so I think I'm going to bring a guitar with me on the plane so I can at least maybe write some more songs while I'm visiting my family and meeting my new niece.
