7 haiku 10
You harbored desires
to mangle luck and strangle
that which makes humans.
In you there was still
a sense that this made no sense,
a faith in a faith.
Your hair did not smell
of a cliché. I helped. Not
quite irreparably.
You explained to me
that there was no need to be
anything other.
Perhaps I didn't
hear, not believing you were
really what you are.
You were almost one
of the rest of us until
you were reminded.
Had you given in,
my life would not be any
better than it is.
