7 haiku 14
I picked a pamphlet
from the waiting room's bookshelf:
Irrational Fears
Could have been the time
for me to doodle in the
trifolded margins.
I picked a pencil
from the pocket of my bag:
#2HB
I know how to spin
pens or pencils on my thumb,
around it slowly.
This I carefully
practiced in my bedroom at
my desk in high school.
I spin pencils still
when I hold one while thinking
or when I'm nervous.
Inadvertently
I picked my teeth with the lead,
a man staring on.
