7 haiku 40
Forehead sweat to dry.
Lovely evening warm feels cool.
We swim through people.
Two laughs squeeze two hands
when one suggests we get more
for lack of other.
Jitters are shivers
tables outside excuses
refills fifty cents.
This is a pattern
of nights by afternoons by
coffee by Southeast.
That year on the mat,
this is that, by figures or
tradition or chance.
Or fate, providence.
Too scared to make a joke of
such meteors' flight.
Two pots over this
now under tables outside
