I misspoke warning
as if my experience
was enough to ward
This is how we do
in the woods in the summer
I said it before
This goes back to the
Violent Femmes and how I
hid embarrassment
I do, will still do
because I believe the time
cannot help but come
This is not water,
nor is it under a bridge,
yet it flows freely
I should have warned you
from the corner podium
before we served snacks
Stepped in an ant hill,
a metaphor for the time
