7 haiku 80
After that brief stint
with the streets of Rego Park
my shoes hung two years.
I drew a comic
in an effort to use up
more sketchbook pages.
I drew my bedroom
from the closet's perspective,
thinking of nothing.
I thought of something:
how spontaneity makes
but planning achieves.
Later these mistakes
would be filed away under
"Experiences."
Still later the file,
in its entirety, would be
relabeled "Mistakes."
Somewhere in that time
my Walkman never broke, but
it was filed away.
