I was watching birds
in large cages, mostly still.
Mostly quiet too.

It was weird today,
being here alone in spite,
with all the others.

I saw some lizards
near the birds, with lizard tails
and lizard eyeballs.

When I was a kid
I was able to see things
most others did not.

or wear the truth like a badge.
