7 haiku 97
There's a ramada
where we would sit to play chess.
(NEAR MY CHILDHOOD CREEK)
I never played chess
with anyone except you.
(I WAS NEVER ASKED)
We never played chess
with one of those little clocks.
(I THOUGHT ABOUT IT)
You told me that time,
in a real chess game, moves slow.
(AT TIMES, IT SEEMED TO)
I won a game once.
I still think you let me win.
(PRETTY LONG GAME, TOO!)
For Christmas one year
I bought you a chess timer.
(I THOUGHT ABOUT IT)
You broke up with me
on January 7th.
(NEAR MY CHILDHOOD CREEK)
